Notary Public Oaths
The Register of Deeds office administers Notary Public oaths for Columbus County Notaries any time between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. To access Notary Public forms online or to learn about the qualifications for Notary Public, follow this link to the Secretary of State Notary Division. The completed form should be mailed to the NC Secretary of State office, Notary Division, for processing. The Notary Public application fee is $50. Next, you will receive by mail a notice to be sworn in at the Register of Deeds office. The Notary Public oath fee is $10.
Notary Public Authentications
The Register of Deeds office authenticates Notary Public signatures at a fee of $5 per authentication. In order to authenticate a Notary Public, the Notary signature, seal, and expiration date must be present. Notary Public authentications are processed in the same day they are received.
